About Me

So who is the guy behind all this? Exactly whose lair is it? That would be me.

My name is Jim and I'm a twenty-something year old Australian male, born on September 24. That makes me a Libran, born on the cusp, if that sort of stuff interests you.

I grew up on the south coast of New South Wales, in a little town called Albion Park. I recently moved to the state of Victoria, and currently reside in Melbourne.

My interests include music, computers, astronomy, ancient history and reading, along with many others.
I listen to just about any kind of music, but have a massive soft spot for a good acoustic guitar and a two or three part vocal harmony.
I am a Mac user, and proud of it.
My interest with astronomy and space in general borders on obsession.
I am fascinated by the ideas and culture of ancient civilisations.
I read mostly science fiction and fantasy, with some of my more favourite authors being Raymond E Feist, Ray Bradbury, Philip Pullman and Jules Verne.

My favourite colour is yellow. My favourite fruit is mango. My favourite band is Indigo Girls. My favourite movie is The Dark Crystal. I'm a massive Star Trek fan. I can play the piano, guitar and flute, as well as dabbling in a few other instruments. I know π to twenty decimal places from memory.
